QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Aug 17 2006, 09:13 PM) I really don't think he is worth that much! I really really don't! When Liverpool can sign Kuyt for 9 million, then IMO Sobis is not worth more than 8. I'm still confused why we didn't go after Kuyt. He could become our next big striker. Just take a look at his scoring record: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirk_Kuytwhy do you always talk about scoring records??? QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Aug 17 2006, 05:55 PM) lol pounds... my mistake. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Why do I look at scoring records? Because that's what you look at when you buy a striker? Just look at all the big strikers in the world, they all have a similar goal scoring record! And then look at some of the not so great strikers, they have a smiliar record too. I think Sobis is somewhere in between. Anyways, all things considered my choice is Torres > Tevez > Sobis I think it depends. At the moment we don't need a pure in-box striker. Those are who score "a lot", like Trezeguet, Nistelrooy... etc We need someone to help Gilardino or Pippo. And obviously who can score too... but, not only that. You shouldn't go by scoring records. If everybody was like that, they'll think that Pauleta is a very good striker, when he's pure b/s... the worst striker I have ever seen.

Well Sheva was our 'not-in-box' striker and he was our top scorer too. You make a good point with Pauleta, but I'm afraid Sobis can't score as much as we expect him to. I'm in no position to judge him, since I don't know him well enough, but looking at his scoring record, he is definitely not as lethal as Sheva and we lost Sheva. You see what I mean?

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Aug 17 2006, 12:33 PM) Messi doesn't and will never have the same scoring record Sheva has, but that doesn't make him an inferior player. Sure as hell does. That's why Sheva was the best in the world when he was with us. He did almost everything. Messi might be fun to watch, but he doesn't have the same impact as Sheva. At least not yet. Sheva and Henry are two complete strikers who can almost do anything and that's why they are regarded as the best. Messi has time and he will definitely become very important, but in a Maradona way, not in a Van Basten way, if you catch my drift.
