QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 16 2021, 10:57 PM) I don't understand you. We fought so hard to get back in the CL and re-live these glorious night again, and you find them a nuisance? I don't care if we have small chances of passing through, when the CL comes knocking everything else becomes secondary. And we should try our best to win every remaining game. In a sense we're lucky that in this crisis of injuries we're facing Porto and not Atletico or Liverpool.
We should try to win these two Porto games by all means necessary. No if's or but's. I would agree if this was 2005, but it's not. And we're in a serious crises here. At this rate we're barely going to have enough players to patch up an 11 and 5 subs. I'm not saying we should throw them. But the league takes precedence ahead of the CL. And it kills me to say this after how hard we fought to get back here, but the goal of the CL has always been about the financial gains we get from it. That's done now. I can't see us getting out of this group anyway now with the squad as it is. For me, it's more important making it to next year's competition than fighting for the lost cause that this year's competition has turned out to be. And if we lose more players on Tuesday we're going to be absolutely f@cked QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 16 2021, 11:02 PM) Btw, I heard that Verona's penalty shouldn't have been given because Kalinic astutely puts first his leg onto Romagnoli's who then charges with the tackle. Just re-watched the moment and I agree. But it's one of those instances which takes balls to override, and clearly the VAR didn't have any and went with the ref's decision. This is becoming such a common theme now. Not only do we have to deal with insanely bad luck with injuries but we've also been f@cked over by the refs countless times this season The Atletico game, I still can't think about without my blood boiling. Last week against Atalanta both goals shouldn't have gone in considering the ricochet on the handball (which today we had a call and was rightly ignored, but same concept) and then the foul on Messias. Now today with that BS penalty call when Kalinic literally stomped on Romagnoli's foot before going down himself. At least we were sort of paid back today by getting a super soft pen as well. But I've seen some seriously horrible officiating so far. What is the point of VAR if they're still going to see what they want to see?

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 16 2021, 11:10 PM) This is our best ever start of the season in the era of the 3 points. 7 wins / 22 points in the first 9 games. Makes what Napoli are doing even wilder. That being said. Out of the top 7 sides, we have faced the most direct rivals - 3 (meaning teams from that group of 7) and have gotten 7 points out of a potential 9. The others have all taken points off each other and have all faced 1/2 top 7 sides. Napoli being the most prominent in that department as they only faces 1 top 7 side, which was Juve

And if we lose more players on Tuesday we're going to be absolutely f@cked First of all, we shouldn't enter games with the phobia of injuring more players. Messias for example got injured during training. Secondly, you may feel this way but I assure you that Pioli, the players themselves and most fans feel otherwise. Even small clubs in the CL go into the competition with the dream of going as far ahead as possible. And we're AC Milan. 2005 or not, our job is not over simply by just being there. We HAVE TO try and pass the group. Even if it's very difficult, as long as there is a possibility we should go for it. Atalanta passed the group stages last year after losing the first 3 games. They had 0 points. And they made it though. Nothing is lost until you're still able to fight. QUOTE (han2503 @ Oct 16 2021, 11:17 PM) This is becoming such a common theme now. They were introduced to amend any mistakes from the ref, yet despite possessing all the technology available they're doing a terrible job. I remember in one penalty given against us, can't remember the game, during the replay it was obvious that it wasn't a pen. But when the ref went to watch the episodes, the VAR showed them completely different images, and not the one with the better angle that evidenced there was no foul. So, so absurd. And so unacceptable.

Atalanta passed the group stages last year after losing the first 3 games. They had 0 points. And they made it though. Nothing is lost until you're still able to fight. Well that's a mindset I can't shake off right now. Our players are dropping like flies and we came close to losing points this weekend because of this. And I understand you completely re the CL. I'm not saying we should p!ss away these games against Porto, far from it. But they are a major headache since we can't rotate the squad anymore. I still put the league ahead of CL. Getting into the CL again next season will mean we'll have more cashflow and a better budget to improve the team, which will hopefully give us better chances for next season's competition. Until we get som continuity the CL is going to be a struggle for us QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 16 2021, 11:35 PM) It's a scandal. WTF is the VAR doing in all this? Great news re Rebic.
I really want to see Pioli trying him out on the right. Having both him and Leao on the pitch would be an extra weapon that Saele and Samu don't provide

Juve man...
Always with the controversial BS.
First with that pen when Abraham had already put it into the net. Then only 3 minutes added after they spent minimum 2 minutes checking another penalty call + 5 subs each...
Overall, they're a poor side but Allegri has stabilized them defensively. And considering all the shithousery, I wouldn't be surprised to see them up there within the next few weeks

Probable line-up for tomorrow:
Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Kjaer, Tomori, Calabria; Tonali, Bennacer; Alexis, Krunic, Leao; Giroud.
Pioli said Ibra doesn't have the minutes to play the whole match, and Rebic is out due to injury.
All in all a good line-up albeit short of a few key players (Theo, Brahim). Good decision to play Calabria on the left and Kalulu on the right. Ballo-Toure is an accident waiting to happen.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 18 2021, 02:53 PM) The whole public opinion is scandalised by Orsato's direction last night.
1. Gave a penalty to Roma instead of applying the advantage rule with Abraham scoring one second later; 2. Didn't repeat the penalty after Chiellini entered the area beforehand and cleared the ball; 3. Told to Cristante at half time that in case of penalty the advantage rule doesn't apply, which is not true at all according to the rules; 4. Told to Cristante with an incredible arrogance that it's not his fault they failed to score; 5. Gave only 3 minutes of added time in the second half when it should have been at least 5.
I'm sick and tired of all these refs and their arrogance. Just like Cakir, they consider themselves infallible, and don't have the courage and decency to admit their mistakes. Add to that the horrendous support from the VAR, and you've got games being compromised everywhere while having the latest technology at their disposal. Simply scandalous. Yeah, totally forgot about Chiellini already being in the box before Veratout had hit the ball. Orsato has a bad history when it comes to Juve. Why he is still allowed to ref their games is typical Italian BS QUOTE (X-Offender @ Oct 18 2021, 02:56 PM) Probable line-up for tomorrow:

Agreed re Calabria and Kalulu. I wanted Pioli to go with that even against Verona. That being said, FBT did improve in the 2nd half against Verona, and he's our alternative to Theo atm, we have to use him

I have to agree with Han though, these CL games are a nuisance. Simply because this time around we have the chance to claim the scudetto and I'd rather have that then advancing to a later stage of CL and getting humiliated by Bayern or whoever.
