I'm really worried. Things are not looking good these days.

Theres a few rumours going around that Leo will most likely leave as Brazil will be giving him the head coaching job.

We'll not look for a coach outside the club; we'll promote Tassotti and Galli to the first team, which imo is a huge mistake. Tassotti has been the AC of the team for a while, so you all know what that means....he's buddy buddy with them all. It'll be hard to change that figure especially given the 9 years he's spent here but he'll probably make even less than Leo did so that works out in the mgmts interest.

As far as the transfers go...nothing big will be happening guys.

Dida looks to be closer to an exit as a renewal will most likely not happen. No new keeper will be coming in. Storari will probably return and if he refuses a return we will most likely look for another free transfer in a GK for 2nd or third string. Abbiati will be first. Roma's contract is also up so we'll see what happens with him.

As far as defenders go its most likely going to be an exit for Favalli and Kaladze and we'll be signing Yepes and Astori. Not really an improvement imo. If nesta isn't fit next season, we might sign another cheap old CB on a free and promote Bonera.

As far as midfield goes, i really don't see any changes taking place. The most we might do is make Mancini's stay permanent and Beckham might join us as his contract runs out in December. But I don't really see any big purchases in Hernanes or any other big players like that. There is talk that strasser might be joining the first team as 3rd/4th string midfielder. Ronnie is also looking likely to agree to his new deal which he will be making 6m/until 2013.

For our forewards...Hunt and Borri will most def stay. Inzaghi will most likely not be getting an extention so he will be gone. Pato will stay unless there is a redicilous bid for him so that one isn't determined yet. If madrid bid 70m, he's gone forsure. Paloschi is looking more likely to return as his co-own is up so we have to make a decision on him. Him and Verdi will probably join the first team and Zigoni will be sent out on loan.

Thats just what I've heard and seen over the last few weeks guys and thats the best of it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I honestly hope im' wrong and this is all just BS and Leo stays and we sign some players, I really really hope so because If whats written above takes place, we'll be a napoli in no time.

I heard pretty similar. It's looking more and more like Leo's leaving.

Allegri quitting sounds like another weaving in the pattern. He's a coach who's experienced in making more with less, so that might be the idea behind it.

I think any and all transfer plans will be up in the air this season. We'll have to see how things go.

Here's Galliani from football-italia:

QUOTE
Milan to focus on youth

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani insists that the club wants to get as much out of its youth sector as possible.

Galliani has been encouraged by the progress of Luca Antonini and Ignazio Abate who both came through the ranks at Milanello and are now regulars in the first team after several spells out on loan.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Galliani said: "I wanted to reinforce the structure of the youth sector to get it back to a very high level."

"We can confirm that a new era began for the Rossoneri's academy in the summer of 2009. We'll keep investing a lot in the youth sector. "

"Today, we are in the Coppa Italia Final with the Primavera who are also second in the championship. We are fighting until the end," he concluded.

Milan have tried to trim their transfer budget over the last year, signing players for free and bringing youngsters back from their loan spells at other clubs.

The bolded part worries me. That's not cupwinning progress.

And on another note...

Paloschi from quotes of the week...

QUOTE
"I have grown 5cm in a year. I am now six feet tall and the sudden growth spurt has caused muscle problems.” Alberto Paloschi now regrets trying out new gym equipment called 'The Rack'

Its a huge positive that were looking at the youth sector in more detail. That is what makes a club great, its youth teams.

If you look at the best team in the world right now;

You would be astonished how many players who play for the first team came out of the youth team:

Valdes
Puyol
Pique
Xavi
Iniesta
Busquets
Bojan
Pedro
messi

-----

We have to invest in our youth, its what will make us a great club in the long run. We are not an arsenal, we have to get this straight.

We don't poach youth from local teams at the prime age and build them into elite footballers; we build elite footballers from day 1.

However, what we are currently doing right now is poaching kids and that is good for the start, but we need to start looking at developing our own kids.

What Galliani is doing right now is spending our transfer funds in the youth system starting with better coaching. We have signed 2 huge youth coaches last summer as well as a world class youth scout. We promoted Fillipo Galli to Youth director and program designer which is a step in the right direction as he is our highest licensed coach sitting with a UEFA Pro.

What this means to those who don't know is that he is basically a World class coach with an incredibly high ability in developing athletes. Its a liscence that isn't given to just anyone. An example would be carlo ancelotti who does not have one and he's a champions league wining coach.

Furthermore, we have made deals with places like Pescara and other places which are known for bringing in a good stock of youth players that we can later sign when they are 12/13. We have made steps into developing better facilities starting with new pitches for the youth kids.

Its all very good and something that should have been taken care of a long long time ago and unforunately becaus it wasn't the first team has to now suffer because of it. The money to make this all possible has to com from somewhere and unforunately its coming out of where it hurts our first team, which is the transfer funds.

NEWS:
QUOTE
AC MILAN TO MAKE MANCINI A PERMANENT TRANSFER
Serie A giants Milan have decided to secure Brazilian midfielder Amantino Mancini on a permanent basis in the close season, according to MilanNews.it.

The 29-year-old joined the Diavoli on a six-month loan deal from city rivals Inter last January.

Club President Silvio Berlusconi openly questioned the move, insisting that Milan’s priority was to sign a new striker.

But despite the ex-Roma winger making a less than impressive impact in the Rossoneri colours, managing just seven appearances in all competitions, chief executive Adriano Galliani has reportedly given a thumbs up for the deal to go through.

Milan are expected to pay Inter €3.75 million to secure Mancini’s services under the terms of their January agreement.

GALLIANI VOWS THAT LEONARDO WILL STAY AT MILAN
Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has ended speculation that boss Leonardo will quit the club at the end of the season.

“I reiterate that Leonardo still has another year on his contract with us, but let’s focus on the league for the time being…” the director told Sky Sport Italia last night prior to the Coppa Italia Primavera final between Milan and Palermo.

Leonardo is said to be unhappy with constant criticism coming from owner Silvio Berlusconi despite keeping the Diavoli in the hunt for the Serie A title with the smallest amount of resources available.

“Without injuries, Milan’s season would have been completely different,” admitted Galliani, who went on to reject claims that club legend Paolo Maldini is set for an executive role at the San Siro.

“We have an excellent rapport with him,” he said.

“But what I am reading is based on nothing. Although, I do understand that the media are hungry for news…”

Milan won the Coppa Italia Primavera after defeating Palermo 2-0 at the Scala del Calcio to complete a 3-1 aggregate win.

the two coaches are:

Francesco Sità and Giovanni Stroppa. Stroppa is the head coach and Sita is the assistant.

The scout is Mauro Pederzoli.

And why are they so good? I mean how do you judge? What're their previous achievements/youth projects?

P.S: Asking, coz I don't know, not coz I'm questioning your judgement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Mancini is a squad option..no big deal. If Abate were to get injured next season, we'd need half-decent cover. Perhaps there's no one in the primavera who can make that jump.

They're sourcing milannews for the Mancini story and milannews is just saying they heard it. They're not citing anyone.

Today's Corriere is saying that Pato is on the market for a fixed price of 55 million and that both Real and Chelsea are interested. So the rumors are starting early. But I'm not too worried at this point. It's Corriere.

EDIT: To respond to Jack's comment about the Primavera not having anyone ready to make the jump, I'll note that I talked to some folks who saw the primavera coppa yesterday and they were pretty unanimous in saying that Verdi was easily man of the match and that he WAS ready. Verdi's a winger/am.

Hmm. Possibly. Verdi looked hungry in the last match I saw. Much better than Di Gennaro, who seems to have fizzled out.

But I was specifically referring to cover for Abate at RB for which I think Mancini is half-decent.

I read on tribal (again quoting Corriere) that it's an 'auction' for Pato with the base price at 55. Real might try to include Benzema in the deal. I call BS on that one.

Mancini does not have the hunger or the ability to play a part in the team. Worst case scenario is that we move Antonini to RB in an emergency

I would like a closer look at De Vito, maybe he can fill in for the LB position in the future

Mancini was not even fit this season. He's alright. Not spectacular. But at least we know what he's capable of.

De Vito is cute. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Antonini at RB is a no-go. Seen him play there too many times now, and I don't think he's attuned to that position.

De Vito... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)
