btw if any mods could edit the topic name and put 22/10/06 - Serie A - next to Palermo - Milan, that would be great, I totally forgot about it and noticed it when it was already posted.

Ooh..this one's a toughie..Palermo will be the toughest defence we've faced yet and our attacking is pitiful...the good news is that Palermo are decent enough to not have to play 10-0-0. But of course nothing's for sure (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

You mean they are not...I thought with Barzagli and people and them playing against Milan, it would work out to be tougher on paper at least.

We play at the Siro right?

On paper they're not good ... but if Barzagli believes the rumours and wants to play for Milan (...) then expect another goal drought !!

Palermo, Parma and Catania have the worst defenses in Serie A so far. Palermo has scored 14 times, yes, but has conceeded the beauty of 12 goals. You think that's a taught defense?

(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I retract my last statement. In such a scenario signing Barzagli would be a very cruel thing to do no...

Well, palermo is doing quite well now, even though the lost the last mach , they have good players, and our team seems to have a lot of problems, but.. considering the fact that after 4 games we won, i hope the win against anderlecht works for good !!! becasue if milan keep struggling like this... no silverware at the end of the season

Milan - Palermo channel4.com preview

Struggling Milan will entertain Palermo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Week 7. The Rossoneri are chasing the three points after three League draws in a row. The Sicilians, who are surprisingly holding the third position in the table, will try to forget last week’s defeat against Atatanta as quickly as possible

It was clear in last week’s match against Sampdoria that Milan are not at their best. The Rossoneri are having problems in attack after having only scored two goals in the last four matches. Coach Carlo Ancelotti is asking his men to play a faster type of football and the match against Palermo could be a good chance for them to improve after winning at Anderlecht in midweek.

Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze could find themselves as central defenders while captain Paolo Maldini and Marek Jankulovski are both left-back options. The Brazilian Marcos Cafù should again be reconfirmed with Daniele Bonera taking a place on the bench. Serginho, Giuseppe Favalli and Marco Borriello won’t be part of the match as they are still injured.

After missing last Sunday’s fixture, Andrea Pirlo may make his comeback. Filippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino – who hasn’t scored yet this season – will probably start the match while Ricardo Oliveira will have to watch from the bench.

Palermo are the biggest surprise of Serie A and last week’s home defeat hasn’t reduced their ambitions even if President Maurizio Zamparini has been trying to play down the talk around his team. The President also gave Coach Francesco Guidolin some advice about the man-to-man marking, which Guidolin will probably follow.

Having recovered from an injury, which forced him to miss last week’s tie, Federico Agliardi will take the gloves once more. With Marco Pisano suspended, after being sent off against Atalanta, there will be a place from the start of the match for newly signed Ciro Capuano. David Di Michele and Mark Bresciano will play key roles behind striker Amauri in the Sicilian formation.

Last year’s clash at San Siro ended with a 2-1 victory for Milan even if the Rosanero put in a fine display. Palermo has never won in Milan against the Rossoneri.

Man on fire: Kakà (Milan) – The Brazilian Fantasista will take the duty of scoring upon his shoulders after his fine performance and goal in the Belgian Champions League win.

Milan (probable): Dida; Cafu, Kaladze, Nesta, Jankulovski; Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kakà; Gilardino, F.Inzaghi

Palermo (probable): Agliardi; Zaccardo, Barzagli, Biava, Capuano; Corini, Diana, F.Simplicio; Di Michele, Bresciano; Amauri

I really, really, really hope that Carlo doesn't go with this.

I would go for Gila and Oli, but other then that, that's the formation I would choose

But maybe Bonera as RB, with Cafu coming on in the second half if we need that extra push from the flanks. Cafu is better coming oof the bench as an alternative attacking option, with fresh legs, that don't really have it in them anymore for a full 90 minutes
