Let's goooo !!! ... 4th place here we come !

Gila scored once and gave 2 other wonderful assist last season in Friuli. I think it was his best match since his arrival at Milan.

again I won't make any predictions. I don't want to junx us.
Hopefully this was the turn around for us. Still not entirely convined there where some moments in the match that where suspect from us against Catania. But we've finally won a game with more then a 1 goal lead which is great.
Gila and Kaka are in great form and they are amazing when playing together.
I think we should stick with the formation we played in today, but with Seedorf or Brocchi in the middle and Gourcuff on the left. Pirlo is just hoorible at the moment

Udinese - Milan - Football Italia
This Saturday it is 13th place Milan who travel to the Friuli in Udine, hoping to give their fans the Christmas present of what would be an excellent away win. Udinese will be trying to continue their steady ascent back up the table. They find themselves in the area of the table their opponents are used to, but alas this year is a different story for the Rossoneri and the home side are not going to complain as they charge onwards and upwards
Udinese completed an impressive victory over tough Atalanta in the 96th minute last time out. Bergamo is never an easy place to pick up points, especially when you are reduced to 10 men after 72 minutes, but the Bianconeri had the will and the character to get the job done and put themselves back in the hunt for a spot in Europe’s premier competition. Fifth place will suit them and they will want to do all they can to stay there over the Christmas holidays.
The home side’s boss Giovanni Galeone will want to see the same will to win this time against a Milan side that seems on the up after a rather undistinguished period. In order to get the most out the match, Andrea Coda is likely to be replaced by Cristian Zapata alongside Cesare Natali at centre back. Antonio Di Natale is almost sure to start alongside Vincenzo Iaquinta after he netted the last minute winner last time out.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Milan have got two good results in a row now and may finally have turned a corner. After the draw against Fiorentina, another strike from a rediscovered Alberto Gilardino and two from an inspired Kaka gave the team from Italy’s business capital a big lift against Catania and some self confidence back. Almost more important than all of this however, was the fact that the Milan defence kept a clean sheet, which is something they normally excel at but have had trouble doing this term.
A ban for Daniele Bonera after a booking last time means Dario Simic will probably come into the centre of defence, Marek Jankulovski will also almost certainly play at left-back against his old club. Cristian Brocchi will probably retain his starting jersey ahead of Clarence Seedorf in midfield. In attack Gilardino seems to finally be assuming the responsibly of replacing Andriy Shevchenko. He will be looking for his sixth goal of the season and his fourth in three games. All this with the help of Ricardo Oliveira and the ever inspirational Kaka.
Man on fire: Kaka (Milan) – The Brazilian was sensational last time out. His double strike secured the points and showed he is back to his amazing best.
Last season: Udinese 0-4 Milan
Form guide: Udinese (L D L W W) Milan (W D D D W)
Udinese (probable): De Sanctis; Zenoni, Natali, Zapata, Dossena; Eremenko, Obodo, Pinzi, Barreto, Iaquinta; Di Natale
Milan (probable): Kalac; Cafu, Simic, Kaladze, Jankulovski; Brocchi, Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaka; Gilardino, Oliveira

Anyway this is my team for tomorrows match hopefully we'll come out with a win
Cafu'--Simic--Kaladze--Janku
-Gattuso--Seedorf--Gourcuff-
--------------Kaka--------------
-------Gilardino--Oliveira------
Just pls no Pirlo, he is one that when he is out of form and keeps losing the ball in that position we get into a lot of trouble

This is probably going to be tomorrow's line up:
-----------------Kalac------------------
Cafu--Simic--Kaladze--Jankulovski
-----Gattuso--Seedorf---Brocchi----
-----------------Kakà -------------------
---------------Gilardino----------------
I like it, but I wonder why Carlo doesn't utilize Gourcuff that much.

From what I saw from today's training, he was smiling and talking with Kakà all the time. But of course that doesn't mean he's already put his sister's problem aside. Man that must feel really bad.

I think Carletto is desperate to play Pirlo into some kind of form. He showed a little bit of touch towards the end of the last game. In any case, Yoann alone can't take the club much farther. You could see the inexperience last match with that flare up.
Andy is unique both in the role he plays and his style. He looks to be a touch+confidence player. So the sooner he gets it back the better. Gila played every match before hitting(fingers crossed) his stride.
I guess Carlo is hoping the same with Andy.

I think it's more the confidence infront of goal that he is missing rather then the situation with his sister. Everything he does leading up to when it comes time to shoot is almost always perfect and in those moments he shows a great player that has great technique and skill. But when he comes up infront of goal he is either not confident enough or he is unlucky enough to hit the post.
Giving him playing time means that the coach has faith in him and that will hopefully be enough to get his confidence levels back. Hopefully Carlo will not give up on him and just let him play a full match.

Gila and Pirlo are totally defferent scenarios. If Gila loses a ball in his third of the field then it's no problem when Pirlo keeps losing the ball in his third it becomes a BIG problem. Plus the bad setpieces and passes. I think it's better to show him the bench at least for a couple of matches.
Seedorf can still do the job in his position.
And about Gourcuff, ok so he took it out on the Catania player a bit after he kept kicking at him, but that's to be expected, he has little experiance, nothing that should be a huge problem.

Just came back from the offical Milan site and read the press conference, and since lately I have been quite good at guessing what formation Carlo will use from what he says during a conference, this is what I think he will use.
Cafu--Simic--Kaladze--Janku
---Gattuso--Pirlo--Seedorf---
--Oliveira--Gilardino--Kaka--

It's the last game before the break .. Carlo needs these three points ..
Yeah, I guess that will be the formation .. But, I have a feeling, it's Broochi that will be starting ahead of either, Seedorf or Pirlo.
In anycase .. Forza Milan, hope we win

Galeone respects Rossoneri
Milan may be a staggering 28 points off the leaders, but Udinese boss Giovanni Galeone warns they’re second only to Inter.
“The only team stronger than them this season are Inter. Their strikers have rediscovered their form, as Alberto Gilardino and Kaka can score at any moment.â€
The Rossoneri haven’t lost at the Stadio Friuli since 2002-03, notching up two draws and last season’s crushing 4-0 victory.
Following their comfortable 3-0 win over Catania and a six-match unbeaten run, Galeone warns they are once again a major threat.
“We also have to watch out for Andrea Pirlo’s set-pieces. Despite their position in the table, for me Milan remain the strongest side in Serie A apart from Inter. Although Roma are in better shape at the moment, they’re certainly not a better team, so even a draw would be an important result for us today.â€
Udinese will be without the suspended Sulley Ali Muntari and Raffaele De Martino, whose goal contributed to the 2-1 win away to Atalanta on Wednesday evening.
“We played on a very bad pitch and many of our men haven’t quite recovered physically yet. I hope they’ll feel better by the time kick-off arrives,†added the veteran.
It will be an intriguing tie for Vincenzo Iaquinta and Antonio Di Natale, both heavily linked with January moves to San Siro.
“I hope that the transfer talk further stimulates them to impress,†added Galeone. “The whole team must play its part, though. We’ll play the attacking system we’ve always adopted, as to go defensive against Milan would be suicide.â€
The tactician confirmed the 4-3-3 formation with Roman Eremenko in midfield and Cristian Zapata returning at the back.

I like it but I think it's too narrow. If we had great fullbacks then I think it will work incredibly well, but I just can't see it be very effective without any wing play and that is the area we are lacking in the most

It may look like 4-3-2-1 but I think it's 4-4-2 with Kaka and Gila in attack. It's the best formation. I said this before the season started that KAKA must play as a free-role striker and you see now its working

The table looks good, very good. Two last matches have been perfect, 6 goals and none conceded. Kalac was impressive today, he saved our @ss more than once. Also great performance by Cafu, Pirlo and Seedorf. Now let's all have some good holidays and get back in 2007 for the conquest of the 4th place. FORZA MILAN!

Serie A Report: Milan Knock Stripes Off Udinese
A second three-goal win is the perfect tonic for the Rossoneri to bid farewell to a fraught 2006 in the best manner possible. Talk of a crisis at Milanello has now been put on the back burner so that a relaxed Xmas break will see the Diavolo raring to go in the New Year.
The Stadio Friuli maintained it’s talisman feeling for the needy visitors who have laid critics low with today’s and Wednesday’s 3-0 wins plus Gilardino's rebirth with a triplet of goals in the past two games. Kalac was called upon early on as Di Natale he slapped an effort wide for a corner.
The Aussie sticks man was tested by Di Natale again, this time the stopper defusing the Bianconeri man’s rocket but was left at the mercy of Vincenzo Iaquinta who – fortunately for Milan’s interests – failed to tap in from five metres.
A Kaká combo with Pirlo was rudely hacked short by Pinzi and the subsequent spot kick was slapped in by a cool and collected Kaká (28 min) who is growing closer to becoming a Rossoneri eternal idol with each passing matchday for his reliability and no-frills hard work as well as the princely natural flair with which he autographs the ball at each touch.
The match had barely restarted when Gilardino (35 min) tipped in a Jankulovski cross with his outstep to make it an uphill struggle for the already floundering hosts. Cafú almost made it 0-3 as he rippled the exterior of De Sanctis’ nets but the action careered to the other end.
Udinese finally put Kalac under consistent pressure, the keeper pulling off a series of timely interventions against Pinzi, Di Natale, Chris Obodo and Paulo Barreto. Kaladze went off injured, Pirlo metamorphosing into an awkward looking centre-back for the rest of the game.
It’ll be a special Xmas for Ricardo Oliveira (76 min) as the much-criticised Brazilian bagged his first Serie A goal since Round 1 with a cold-bloodedly precise drive that was celebrated with no small glee by the man who has broken the longstanding goal jinx.
UDINESE (0): De Sanctis; Zenoni, Coda, Zapata, Dossena; Eremenko (Siqueira 46), Obodo, Pinzi; Barreto (Virtanen 90), Iaquinta, Di Natale
AC MILAN (3): Kalac; Cafu, Simic, Kaladze (Ricardo Oliveira 69), Jankulovski; Gattuso, Pirlo, Brocchi, Seedorf (Antonelli 85), Kaka (Gourcuff 52); Gilardino
Yellow Cards: 16' R. Eremenko 30' G. Pinzi 63' C. Seedorf 80' G. Gattuso
Goals: 31' [0 - 1] Kaka (pen.) 35' [0 - 2] A. Gilardino 76' [0 - 3] R. Oliveira

MILAN ON CRUISE CONTROL
A Kaka-inspired AC Milan cruised to a comprehensive victory over Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on Saturday.
The Brazilian star produced a virtuoso midfield display to put the game out of Udinese's reach before half-time.
He handed the Rossoneri the lead after 31 minutes with a coolly-taken penalty after he had been hauled down in the area by Giampiero Pinzi.
And the visitors doubled their advantage just four minutes later when Alberto Gilardino scored with a stunning acrobatic volley.
The imperious Kaka was withdrawn just seven minutes into the second period, but the damage was already done.
But there was still time for Milan to score a third, though, as Ricardo Oliveira took advantage of some casual defending from the home defence to seal the three points late on.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was without the services of Daniele Bonera, who was serving a one-match ban, while Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf was recalled to the starting XI after being rested for the 3-0 win over Catania in midweek.
Udinese chief Giovanni Galeone was without key duo Raffaele De Martino and Sulley Muntari. De Martino was serving a one-match suspension after being sent off during Wednesday's 2-1 win over Atalanta, while Ghanaian midfielder Muntari was serving the second game of a three-match ban.
Milan, buoyed by their first win in four games against Catania on Wednesday, started brightly and were only prevented from taking the lead after seven minutes by a brilliant piece of goalkeeping from Morgan De Sanctis.
Seedorf unleashed a stinging drive from the edge of the box that looked destined for the top corner, but De Sanctis acrobatically clawed the ball away for a corner.
The Bianconeri struggled to get a foothold in the game in the opening stages and only had Antonio Di Natale's long-range strike down the throat of Zeljko Zalac to show for their efforts.
But Milan's dominance was rewarded just after the half-hour when Kaka scored from the spot.
And Milan had to wait just four minutes before doubling their advantage.
Marek Jankulovski produced a scintillating run down the left wing and his cross was tamely cleared by Cristian Zapata into the path of Gilardino.
The Italian striker produced an outrageous piece of skill to send a thundering half-volley flying past a shellshocked De Sanctis.
Udinese were on the ropes and they nearly went even further behind before the break but Gilardino and Cafu both missed clear openings.
The closest Galeone's side came to pulling a goal back was through Antoniotheir prized asset Vincenzo Iaquinta. The powerful forward, who has been linked with a January move to Milan, struck a fierce free-kick from 25 yards, but if flew narrowly over Zeljko Kalac's crossbar.
Udinese started the second half with renewed vigour and twice came close to dragging themselves back into the game.
Firstly Giampiero Pinzi was denied by an athletic save from Kalac, and then Paulo Vito Barreto could only shoot wide from eight yards after being teed up by Di Natale.
And they were made to pay for their profligacy as Oliveira broke free to net a third for Milan after 76 minutes.
A stunning long pass from Christian Brocchi was brought down on the chest by the Brazilian forward and he calmly lotted the ball past De Sanctis to wrap up a convincing win for Ancelotti's improving side.

A great game.
Congrats to Gila and Oliv for showing their form.
This shows that Milan still has it in them to make things happen. The problem is consistency.
A couple more days and hopefully we'll see some new signings and I think we can at least qualify for the UEFA cup.

Hehe, Pirlo's never been at Lecce. He actually said he was forced to play as CB when Milan was playing Lecce in January 2005. Nesta got sent off, we didn't have any substitutions left and so Carlo put him in the centre uphold Maldini. Remember the match? Coach Ancelotti asked me to play as a defender. It is not something I am used to doing, but I had done it already in Lecce. 2007 is going to be a great year for us, I'm sure of it.
And I thought it was strange cause I was certain that Pirlo never was a Lecce but I thought maybe they made a mistake and instead meant to say Brescia

I like the formation. THat's how to play these teams from now on, especially away. We've been sussed out for sooo long, so the teams now in seria A know they only need to sit back, absorb the pressure and hit us on counters. So "choking up" the midfield is like playing them at their own game
It only took CA so long to discover that cos he's dumb. Yeah, I know Berlu always insisted on 2 strikers
Anyone know why Kaka got annoyed when CA pulled him off?. He got angry and stormed right past the bench and into the dressing room. I don't like seeing such scenes, 'specially now that Real sniffing around
My MoM? Pirlo. For playing central defence when Kaladze went off. I would never have believed it posiible. And Oli got his goal.
I
I think it was his injury that was still bothering him, Carlo never takes Kaka off, he took a long time to come out on the pitch after half time (I assume he was recieving treatment) and I suppose couldn't carry on. He was playing through the pain barrier also against Catania. And if it was anything like a row or something like that he would have been followed by Tassotti or no one at all for that matter, but when he went into the dressing rooms someone from the medical staff followed him in

It wasn't really a storming out as some are making it out to be, I hadn't watched the footage before and then I saw it this afternoon and all that happened was Kaka first went near the subs bench and talked to some of the other players then he went to the dressing rooms with one of the members of the medical staff following him, and he was also limping during the game. So it's safe to assume he was getting treatment for his injury. It's not like he went off the pitch kicking and screeming

Yep well Sheva knew about the interest coming from Ambramovic and TWICE renewed his contract.
As for what's currently happening to Sheva, maybe Kaka sees this as a lesson that he would rather not learn on his own. Although I think it would be easier for Kaka to adapt to the La Liga rather then the EPL like Sheva. (but don't tell him I said this

He renewed his contract and still stayed with Milan !
I have this gut feeling that Milan wanted to sell him more than he wanted to leave !
30M pounds for a 30 yr old, in his decline stage .. Shevchenko .. Is a very VERY good deal ..
But when you say Kaka for 40M pounds (Madrid's last bid), a player that has yet to reach his prime and is destined to be one of footballs all-time greats, just like Pele, Maradonna, Zizu .. I think a player like that is priceless. Maybe in 2011 .. when he's 30 or so; Milan will let him go ... But not now ..

I don't think Milan wanted to let Sheva go they where offered much more for him from Real during the time of the 'golacticos' and they refused. Sure he was younger but still a lot of cash.
If we wanted cash then we could have milked Ajaz for Stam and same goes for Benfica and Rui, but we let them leave for free as some sort of sentimental gesture towards the player.
Milan never needed the money for Sheva, he wanted to leave and because of the relationship he has with Silvio he let him despite having a contract.

I understand very well the the relationship between Sheva and Don Silvio, I also remember the deals from Madrid; but did they let Shevchenko go during that time ?
I mean if David Beckham left Man U for Madrid ( and he was THE most valuable player among Man U's stock ( at the time ) ), then why couldn't Sheva declare a move too
I mean hands down it is a much better club than Chelscum .. Rich history, better weather and taxes are, supposedly, really low .... Instead he stayed .. Untill Milan agreed to sell him at the age of 30 !! So, my point is, chill guys .. Kaka will stay with us till he's about that age .. The whole of San Siro would be burned down if he leaves this summer
Stam was sold to Ajax .. Rui was the free transfer ... In anycase, Stam - out Bonera in ..... Rui - out Gourcuff - in .... Fresh blood.
Stam was definately in his decline and Rui Costa as much as I like this player, his time has ended, he doesnt deserve the bench.

About Beckham, he didn't want to leave but Man U had to sell him (at least this is what I've heard about his transfer). But in Milan's case we never needed the money.
But just think about this, if Milan where the ones that wanted to sell him, would Sheva have let them sell him, with him coming out as looking like the bad guy that jumped ship when the club was going through a bit of rough waters. I wouldn't think he would be that much up fot it
And neither do I believe that Sheva left for the money since he is basically getting paid at Chelsea what he was paid at Milan. I guess in the end it all comes down to the wifey

I think that if Sheva stayed he woud still be the same Sheva for us.
Who would have known that he would turn out the way he did in the EPL??
So Milan rarely make bug mistakes when it come to the transfer market (although we did have some howlers during the late 90's) but Sheva could have easily turned out to be the biggest thing in the EPL since sliced bread as he has easily become the biggest flop in it's history.
My point is, I don't think Milan EVER wanted to sell him, Silvio regarded him as a second son, 30M pounds are peanuts to him hecould have easily invested that ammount in the club himself instead of selling the clubs most valuble player

Had Sheva stayed at Milan .. That would have been a different story, but his form has been in a decline ! He has been consistent on goal yes, but not as in the past .. Lately he has been injury prone and lacks the fluid game that he used to have. Basically when a player looses his Prime, i.e. Rui Costa, when he was at Fiorentina he was amazing, his goals came from no-where ... then he moved to Milan everything was going well, then after 2003 after the CL Final, he started to give performances that didn't match what he could have done in the past
Shevchenko's form has been decreasing ever since 2004, we won the scudetto and his form had decreased .. Before 2004, he was the best, but after that .. He just simply wasn't able to match his previous performances .. Sure he has a sight for goal .. But if I show you footages of him back then, then I show you him in 05 and 06 .. you'll see a HUGE difference.
With that said, naturally, Kaka is the asset along with Pirlo, Gilardino, and Nesta .. These are players that still have juice in them to play at the highest of their level.

You're probably right R7, but I still think Sheva was the club's most valuable player. He might have not been the Sheva of 2003 or 2004 or earlier, but he was still our most important player on the field.

Yep. Now it's Kaka.

I agree with everything u said han, except on this point. ( Shevchenko was an idol for me, as a player and as a Rossoneri .. Just to know I am not attacking him ) ..

He might not have been the most valuable asset, and the players you mentioned I think could go for more then him especially Kaka since they are all younger. But in the fans eyes and the way we played with him on the field I think he was our most valuable asset. And I agree with you that he has been in somewhat of a decline after 04 but still he was the leader in our attack and in my eyes he was our most valuble player.
But we just can't judge him on anything he does at Chelsea cause anything he does there is pure cr@p compared to what he's done with Milan.

I agree w/ u .. I don't judge him based on what he is doing now (actually I dont care how he's doing now) ... But b4 he left us .. He wasnt the Sheva I used to watch; he was above all a leader and an inspiration to the team, while his form was nothing to be arrogant about .. i.e. (this is more painful to talk about) Maldini in the 90's and Maldini in the 00's .. You see a difference .. Especially since u'v known no other but this player, you could deffinately point out where he is lacking, compared to previous years.
But experience, that is what is valuable in, Both SHvchenko and Maldini ... They both have emense experience .. We r talking about players here that played at the top .. (i.e. finals, semi-finals, and champions) .. They have gone through it all .. So that would be the ONLY thing valuable, IMHO.
In the end, Milan was in need of a change of squad .. So selling Shevchenko @ 30M pounds, believe me, was worth it ..
Take this example:
An apple that is starting to go rotten in ur kitchen .. You could still eat it TODAY, but in two days, it wouldn't be edable ... The morale is, u could gain something from it today, but if u leave it for another day, you could loose it's value on the previous day.
I.e. Shevchenko @ 30 was worth 30M pounds !!! But @ 31, and assume he was performing the way he is today ..
That's what I ment by us having the upper hand to Chelsea; we had the better deal
Don't worry .. This team has always had goal scorers of emmense quality, MVB, Sheva, JPP, Massaro, etc etc .. Just wait and see

Unless it's Henry, Eto'o or R10 I don't think we could bring his equal any time soon.
But hopefully Oli starts to show us what he really can do and another player that is promising come in.
Maybe that Pato kid if we manage to get him, although I heard Chelsea are also after him now, so....guess who will win that one

Depends...do Milan really want him? If yes, Chelsea better not move a muscle coz it won't make a difference.

Let's hope so. But according to Abramovic they will cut down on the spending from now on, I guess the Sheva ordeal has finally opened his eyes
And Chelsea will most likely go for a RB rather then another forward considering they have Sheva, Drogba and Kalou in that area, plus Robben, SWP and Joe Cole who usually play on either side of the striker when they play their favoured 4-3-3 formation

That's true ..
When Walcott was recieving contracts from Arsenal and Chelsea .. He choose Arsenal, cuz he knew he would get more playing time with them than at Chelsea.
The same goes w/ Pato
(if Milan r interested in him)

Henry is out of the question han .. As much as I'd like him here, he wont come.
Eto'o is maybe a summer transfer .. As is R10 (yes I'm still not ruleing him out
) ..
Oli, is a good forward, but he is no Sheva equal.

Yep, that's why I said it will be hard to find his equel.
And I now Oli is no Sheva equal, but I also know he hasn't showed us half of what he could do.

Come on han ... !!!
Favalli, Janku, Daharuso, Kalac, Vogel, etc .. These were all stand in players .. incase something happenes ... As is happening now. These are cheap or free players .. That don't mind warming the bench ...
But players that are brought in as KEY elements of the team, cost money .. And Milan has never fallen short, they can overbid anyone, IF they want a certain player.
So yes, if they want that player they will get him

Just think of when was the last time Milan actually spent big on a player. It was on Gila. But since then it has been all free-be's and cheap knock offs.
I would count the Zlatan thing as a reference of being outbid by INTER of all teams when we wanted a player but considering the fact of what we where going through during that time (with the trails and everything) I will give them a chance to redeem themselves during January and next summer but if they don't do anythin but scower around for the free transfers then we'll know how much interest they still have in the club
