Milan, Berlusconi: "Ronaldinho impossibile. Eto'o?

Eto'o? Non mettiamo limiti alla provvidenza...".

http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?a...n=read&id=64379

Basically Berlusconi says Ronaldinho is impossible as Laporta won't sell him. He joked about that "Barcelona president told me he would have to leave the country if he sells Ronaldinho."

About Eto'o... who knows. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) He doesn't say "it's impossible".

******************************************************************

But Eto'o said yesterday the Milan-chapter was over with him. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Well, I don't know. He's italian. And a politician. It wouldn't be the first time he says "banana" and the other day "mango" about the same subject.

I don't know ... But I am still of the opinion that the BIG name signing is Ronaldinho ...

Who knows what is actually happening behind the curtains (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

And I am almost sure that there will be no big SIGNING this year as there was no such last year. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
But we may hope until August 31... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)
And on September 1 we all will be disappointed. We do not need big signings, we just need few hard working talented youngsters for back up.

QUOTE

http://www.calciomercato.com/index.php?c=21&a=46796

Soriano, one of Barcelona directors about Eto'o: "He wants to stay and we want him to stay. If everything goes fine he'll stay"

OK. So now our other options are: Shevchenko, Drogba e David Villa.

Maybe Sheva or Drogba, but I just cant see Villa in Milan .. He just doesn't seem the type. Serie A is too physical

If there are any big names to be sign I assume it'll be Sheva, while I would prefer Villa. Don't see any problems with his physical conditon (just look at Pippo...he's not a strong guy either). He's young, proved that his worth in the CL and is IMO not worse than Eto'o.

Let's face it, there's no hope for signing a world-class. every time that somebody asks Galliani about this matter he sidetracks into inequality between Italy and Spain's fiscal bullsh1t! looks a very good excuse for him not only for his incapability of bringing a world class to Milan, but to warn us that even our stars (especially Kaka) could leave Milan for Spain and England in the near future. when he talks about transfer window, it's just disappointment. looks like we have to acquiesce to Sheva's return at most...

Some Galliani quotes saying somewhat of the same thing. Inter and Juventus buy big players and have transfered players from the Prem and other places.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The problem is the difference in the financial regime in Spain. We experienced the same problem with Henry," revealed Galliani. "We were very close to the Frenchman and Leonardo had worked hard on convincing him. We would not have had problems handing over £16m to Arsenal, but the £6.7m per season net wages are not sustainable for us. To be clear, Barcelona's contract with Henry costs them less than £10m gross, but for us the same wages would cost £13.5m.

"Unfortunately, this is the truth now. We have to get used to it. Years back Ajax, Red Star Belgrade and Steaua Bucharest could challenge for the Champions League. Now they have vanished because they can't sustain certain costs.

"It'll get worse, as a new Government plan will take away resources from the big clubs to give to the smaller sides. We'll get a more balanced Serie A, but the decline in Europe could follow."

The other big teams in Italy (well, Juve and the Merda) are signing big players, but they're also significantly in debt (see separate article in news re: Serie A debt). Fester's actually being fiscally responsible by not doing something that'd put the club into financial difficulty. Sure, Don Silvio could inject millions and millions into the club to shore up finances (as the Agnelli family did with Juve recently and as Moratti has done with the Merda), but even that wouldn't cover up a company that's operating at a loss. Also remember another big factor for Milan is wages. It's not a matter of affordability; it's the fact that there's an effective cap on salaries: the 'top stars' all earn the same amount, and that is NOT the case at any of the other big clubs.

So what does this mean for the transfer market? I honestly don't know. I'm holding out hope that Milan will sign /someone/ good. Realistically, though, it's quite possible they may not if the club management decides to not operate at a loss.

Yeah but I'm sure you could agree with the cash we received from Scheva's sales last summer and the fact that we are one of the richest clubs should give us the financial resources to invest in some new or seasoned talent. I agree that it would possibly inflate the salaries of players in that most of the players will want pay increases kind of like Chelsea. But on the other hand it appears that this is some kind of excuse to cover up that these players didn't come and it might be a management issue. We have to find some kind of strategy to compete with the big clubs in the future.

@jbryant1....one of the articles mentioned that the Sheva sale was the only reason we earned a profit. 1.6 mill if I'm not wrong.

As for big names, I think Gallas may be heading Milan's way.
He's fed up with all the youngsters, and now that Henry is gone, I can't see him staying.

THAT would be a nice buy. A really good defender. But... isn't Juventus looking for a CB? And Inter... after losing (most probably) Chivu to Barcelona will also be there.

Milan-age btw. Turns 30 in August. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

It's all up to Don Silvio.

Perfect. But if we get Gallas, then no Zambrotta for some time. But I don't see Gallas on the bench. And where does Kaladze go?
