Good news for me. I like him a lot. though he's nothing compared to Nesta (what a great world class defender, definitely the best in the world), but can be as good as nowadays Maldini.

Nesta and Maldini come first. Whether they are injury prone or not. It is this pairing that has won us the CL ! These are our champions.

You keep saying this, but everybody agree with that. Just remember how much time Nesta and Maldini were out this season with injuries. Next season we'll be fighting for Serie A too and when you have 60 matches a season to play you need a deeper squad and if you have let's say Alex who is 23-24 he knows that he won't always start but he's also know that he would play enough too, cuz Maldini can play nowadays maybe 25-30 games in a seson.

Having another world class defender on the bench is a waste ! Not a dream, u dont think Toure or Alex will jump at a chance of playing for Milan next year ? Every player is dreaming !!
*

Toure would jump at the chance to play for anybody, he is a waste.

I really don't see Alex, Luisao, Terry or any top class defender accepting the bench. They would love to play for Milan, and would still get a decent amount of games with Maldini's ability to play only once a week.

Many players know they're better than that though, can you honestly see any of the afore mentioned accepting a place on the bench in a CL Final so Nesta & Maldini can start? I very much doubt it.

I think having Kaladze, Bonera and Simic on the bench is more than enough. Kaladze and Nesta are great together. That's a fact. Simic can be World class in the center and so can Bonera. I'm confident we don't need a World class CB. But I would definitely welcome someone like Thuram who can sit on the bench and can still be counted on when needed.

Seems like we agree on more than just the Zambrotta situation. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Once a week ?! Sorry, but to me u r making it seem like he is a cripple. Well, a cripple who won this years Champions League. (Many thatnks to Milan lab (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

p.s. Exactly what I am saying. Milan is a club that maintains it's players in a certain harmony. You just don't have players complaining on the bench. It is a professional club, unlike some other clubs that don't take care of their squad.

U see, I do agree with we need a new cb, a quality cb who is world class (cuz Nest and Paolo r injury prone) !! I do agree, and u can sit here and day dream and paint the sky whichever color u or me or anybody likes.

At the end of the day, everybody will look back after a couple of years and say, ' Nesta and Maldini ' a legendary pairing! As they did before with Baresi and as they named the dutch trident in the late 80's; the invincibles.

Nesta and Maldini .. Just enjoy it while it lasts, that is all I am saying. I am still feeling the euphoria of winning the CL !! The song "siamo noi siamo noi .." is still fresh in my mind when the crowd screamed it out load !!! These are our champions. No, these are milan's champions. Terry or any other whom would be an excellent choice to step in, sure I mean the better for the club. But that doesn't mean that we are missing something in defense (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Nesta is #1 defender in the world and Capitain Paolo is the first name on the first XI. So what if we go down empty handed ... We have just been crowned Champions League winners.

Exactly (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

We can get someone to take Costacurta's place, but we already have a good line of defense. (This season Milan proved the critics wrong, when they thought age was an issue (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) )

I completely hear everything you said there.

I'm not calling Maldini a cripple, but he has said that he takes 3 or 4 days after a game until he can star training properly again because of his knees. Which is why he can only play once a week.

I do agree with ya that Milan is probably the most 'harmonic' club in the world. (Not sure if harmonic's a word, the most 'together' and 'professional' club. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) I think we can keep players with decent calibure on the bench, as we already do. But no 'World Class' player will sit on the bench, it doesn't matter where. We can get decent players, such as Bonera, who know their time will come.

That is why Maldini is getting a surgery, which he needed to do for some time now. He kept postponing and went through the pain to fight for the team. After the surgery, he will be ready for next season and all the competitions. It's his last season, he deserves it. He owns it, actually (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

^^ I assume by 'all those competitions' you mean you believe we're going to actually respect the Coppa Mancini as a trophy?

I demand 5 trophies next season! Euro Super Cup, World Club Cup, Serie A, Coppa Italia & Champions League.

Any less and I deem it a failure, and a complete restructure is needed, players and staff.
