QUOTE
Carlo Ancelotti has named Paolo Maldini in his squad, but announces he will not play the Champions League semi-final with Manchester United.

The veteran defender and captain was a major injury doubt due to a knee problem and had been listed as one of the 23 players for Wednesday’s encounter at San Siro.

“Maldini will stay in the pre-match camp with the rest of the side despite the fact he is not available for tomorrow’s game,” he told ‘Milan Channel’ this evening.

It had been suggested Maldini’s chances of starting the tie were around 20 per cent, so it is not entirely a surprise.

His place in central defence will be taken by either Kakha Kaladze or Daniele Bonera alongside Alessandro Nesta.

Milan must overturn the 3-2 first leg defeat at Old Trafford if they are to reach the Champions League Final in Athens.

Sad news.

We'll make it even with Kaladze. It will be our attack that will win the tie and qualification not our defence that will lose it.

QUOTE (whoarethepatriots @ May 1 2007, 11:51 PM)
I have said  this once and i will say it again, we must win, not only to avenge roma's thrashing (damn lazy romans  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) but to restore pride and to silence our many critics
*

That is my motivation for this game, plus the added bonus of if we win; we get a rematch with Liverfool ...

................................................................................
........................................

But my confidence isn't the same (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Maldini wont play and I am not sure if Inzaghi can pull it off again. Expecially now that they have Rio back ... Q. Is Rio and Vidic that good ? Will u expect them to be as good tomorrow ?!

It is obvious that our attack will be based on Inzaghi and Kaka, but our defense is lacking big time, Maldini is a huge blow ... I just hope the team can play with determination w/o him.

Oddo-Nesta-Kakha-Janku

Gattuso-Pirlo-Ambro

Kaka-Seedorf

Pippo

So nothing special, the same formation that we played against Bayern.

p.s. I am hoping that we do to them, what they did to Roma (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

Oh, boy, the English media slander is starting already. I condensed their zillion one-sentence paragraphs into two for easier reading. Try not to act too surprised at the source.

"Keeper Dida said the Portuguese ace froze in the first leg — despite scoring in United’s 3-2 victory. The Brazilian also reckons Ronaldo was outplayed by Milan’s two-goal hero Kaka. Dida said: 'The duel between Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo did not even exist in the end. Kaka won that one clearly — not only by two goals to one but by his work on the field. Ronaldo was just not that great. I believe the nerves and the responsibility proved too much for him.' United carry that slender lead into the second leg thanks to Wayne Rooney’s last-gasp strike. But Dida insisted: 'Rooney’s goal was just lucky. It was so far out anything could have happened. By beating us, Manchester United have not proved they are better than us. In fact, they are very lucky the tie is not over already. With the score at 2-1 to Milan they were very close to going out. If we had taken our chances to make it 3-1 then the match and the tie would have been closed out.' "

"Italian World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso has recovered from the foot injury that cut short his game at Old Trafford. The former Rangers midfielder said: 'For me, this match is more important than the World Cup final. Manchester United should be aware they are still not in the final. It will be an enormous error if they go to Milan with excessive confidence. Surely it will be impossible for us not to arrive in the final.' " (thesun.co.uk)

Heh. Not only that, they expect Milanisti to believe that Dida would talk smack about an opponent or that Rino would rate this match higher than Italy's WC success. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Looks like Fergie won't play both of them tomorrow it will be one or the other to partner wes brown.

He really had no other choice to bring one of them in because Evra is suspended so we'll be playing against an half injured Rio or Vidic.
