QUOTE Ronaldo Earns Larsson Praise
Henrik Larsson has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo, and has insisted that his former Manchester United teammate deserves his Player of the Year awards. Ronaldo Earns Larsson Praise
"I was pleased to see Cristiano Ronaldo pick up the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards in the English Premiership," he told manutd.com.
"Since he is being talked about as the greatest player in the world it's not a surprise that he got those awards.
"He definitely deserves them. Having played together at Manchester United I have nothing but admiration for him.
"He has tremendous skill and also puts in a lot of hard work. He's a fantastic player and it's amazing to think that he will only get better."
The former Barcelona and Celtic striker also praised the rest of the side for their efforts over what has the makings of a very successful season, but admitted that the Portuguese was the cherry in the pie, so to speak.
"There are a number of players at United who could have won the award, because there is so much talent in the side, but Cristiano does stand out a bit," continued the Swede.
"He's a joy to play alongside and it will be interesting to see how he develops in the future."

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Apr 30 2007, 05:26 AM) yeah your absolutely right. Not many players like him around. Luisao is similar. I can't think of anymore. Luisao is definately someone we should look into, him and Alex should be our main targets for defence. We need someone with that physical presence, we don't have anyone like that in our team. And considering the fact the both Paolo and Billy seem certain to retire then we need to get a WC defender to replace the 2, we've got enough good defenders that could come in and do the job if someone got injured but we lack that other WC defender to play next to Nesta and build a steady pairing in the center

Glad everyone is confident. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I can't wait for the game.. but scared of the devastation if we don't make it. As people have pointed out getting to this stage with all that has happened is a real credit to the side to rise and overcome adversity this season. But in saying that now that were at this stage, the expectation has changed especially with the side hitting such good form and only lapses in concentration costing us.

QUOTE (Rino) Milan will play a decisive encounter on Wednesday evening. Ever since I have worn this great club's shirt, I have played in so many of these high-tension games that I don't remember them all. Against Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs we Rossoneri will hold the honour of Italian football high, but also render our history more prestigious because no one has played four quarter-finals in the last five years of the Champions League. If we manage to overcome last week's defeat at Old Trafford then we have the possibility to play in a third final. Considering all the problems over the last year, it is a miracle to have arrived here. Milan were forced to start from the preliminary round which changed the preparation, with us world champions called back from our vacation. We paid for what was an injustice. Then we had lots of injuries (Nesta, Kaladze, Kaká, Inzaghi, me too), but in spite of everything, nobody has yet been successful in sinking us. Now we have a chance of knocking out a side like Manchester United and it will take something special: the help of our fans.
We will put in pride, passion and experience. However, our fans will have to give something more. We want an atmosphere like Old Trafford last Tuesday, heated and correct. Manchester United were in difficulty and after the break the crowd got behind them and dragged them to victory. Also in the name of my team-mates, we call on the San Siro to give us that final push to Athens. Give us a hand in our difficult moments against a great side like [Sir] Alex Ferguson's, don't let us down. We can take this historical assault together, we will go to Athens together. Then if, even if we with our desire to do something special, Manchester United demonstrate they are stronger than us, we will accept that verdict sportingly. At the end, we have won something important. Remember the official communication from UEFA at the start of the season that they would keep an eye on our games and our behaviour? I, like the whole dressing room, still feel bad about that. However, it's wonderful that UEFA, in the person of Michel Platini, has acknowledged our efforts and our correctness. He said that the game at Old Trafford between us and Manchester United has been a beautiful advert for football. We have taken a moral revenge and it would appeal to us to make another advert and turn things around at the San Siro, with our victory. And if you, fans and friends, get behind us for ninety minutes, then maybe we will make it.

Kaká hails Milan fans Milan star Kaká hopes the Rossoneri fans will be their 12th man for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final with Manchester United.
The San Siro outfit hosts the Red Devils in the return leg and the Brazilian is hoping to feel the same magic atmosphere he found at Old Trafford last week.
“That game was a real spectacle and I am convinced the second leg will be another amazing match – perhaps even more amazing than the first one,†Kaká told uefa.com.
“I was impressed by the atmosphere inside Old Trafford, even at half-time when Manchester were losing 2-1 the United fans were still singing and cheering on their team,†explained the attacking midfielder.
“I am sure our fans will show the same kind of spirit. We haven’t enjoyed a great season, but our supporters have been brilliant and have been by our side throughout.â€
Milan were defeated 3-2 thanks to a late goal by Wayne Rooney, but Kaká is confident that his side has a great chance of progressing to the Final in Athens.
“We left Old Trafford a little bit disappointed on Tuesday night because of the late goal we conceded, but not with our heads down.
“I don’t want to take anything away from the quality of United’s play and Rooney’s goal, it was an incredibly good finish.
“If the match had finished 2-2 I still feel we would have a mountain to climb, although those away goals are very important,†he explained.
“Losing the first leg is not the end of the world and I believe we have a great chance of turning the tie around at the San Siro,†concluded Kaká, the Champions League top scorer with nine goals.
In the meantime, Milan police chief Gian Valerio Lombardi confirmed that the sale of alcohol will be prohibited from 7am local time in the area surrounding the Stadium, city centre and Linate airport.
“The decision has been taken after incidents occurred in the past on the occasion of international ties, also due to the fact that supporters were allowed to buy alcohol before the match,†read an official statement.
Kick off is scheduled for 7.45pm GMT with the winners facing either Chelsea or Liverpool in the Final on May 23 in Athens and will be designated as the home team.
