Calhanoglu?s instagram account had been trolled the most since Milan?s win last night. Topped it off with Zlatan asking the fans as the bus went around town if they had a message for Hakan (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

I swear I am elated by the Scudetto, not because the team actually won it. But because Milan beat Hakan to it, I am 10X happier like this

On a serious note regarding the team in general.

I didn't think we could do it until practically the last 20 minutes against Sassuolo.

With that being said, looking back at the run-in we had, the BS we had to deal with throughout the season with injuries, Covid and refereeing errors; it really is remarkable what we have managed to achieve this season. All while having an attack that was basically made up of Leao carrying it and Giroud coming up big in specific moments.

I am infinitely proud of this group, Pioli and the management

It will be greatly interesting to see what Pioli can do next season with a stronger squad.

Origi, Renato and Botman are practically all done from what I've read. That's already a big upgrade to the squad.

We still need to find a RW, preferably someone explosive, a backup LB and maybe an AM as well depending on what formation we'll be using

It will be an interesting summer for sure. And hopefully being champions will make us an even more attractive destination.

Leao has to renew this summer at all cost. It's being stated that Mendes is asking 7m for him. He also lost the legal dispute with Sporting so he'll have to pay 16m to them, obviously not all at once but it will be deduced from his salary (30% of his current monthly salary I think I read).

We need to step up and offer him 6/6.5m plus easily achievable bonuses to make him happy. We CANNOT let this become another case that drags forever.

As for the summer campaign, Origi seems to be a done deal. With Botman there's an agreement but nothing has been signed yet. Sanches negotiations are still underway but apparently we are pressing to close the deal. That's what I've gathered lately.

Other signings. We need a quality RW like a fish needs water. We saw with Leao how much damage someone who can beat his man on the wing can make: 11 goals and 10 assists. Somebody of a similiar calibre would excel us to the next level. Problem is finding him at a reasonable price (30-35m).

100% agreed re Leao

Whatever he wants we should give him. He's an undisputed star who will only continue to improve. He's still so young and no where near his peak imo.

He's probably the most marketable player in the league as well. We should just shift Zlatan's current salary to him and if Zlatan wants to stay which could be the case it's going to be for a minimal salary of around 2m from what I'm reading. It would basically be shifting around their pay packets which wouldn't cause any sort of dent in the current wage structure. Leao is more than worth it. We should also offer a good signing on bonus, especially considering that Sporting issue you referred to. Just tie him down long term. He could easily be a 200m player in a few years. Any investment we put in now will be worth it down the line.

Yeah, the Renato and Botman stuff isn't as concrete as Origi, but most journalists seems to be taking both signings as a given at this point.

Absolutely, the RW has to be someone explosive, Serie A defenders simply cannot handle players like Leao. It's why I think Renato is going to smash it with us as well. Because he has that explosive quality to him as well. Just imagine a midfield trio of Renato, Tonali, Benna with Leao, Origi and another pacey winger up front... This would probably the fastest and most athletic squad in the league and in today's football that is key, especially in Serie A where the rest of the squads are all still very limited in terms of athleticism

Btw, Fode Ballo-Toure has to be one of those lucky mofos who are just there and pick up silverware.

Won AFCON and now Serie A (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Milan could be tempted by Madrid if the offer is true to purchase Leao?s contract.

It would be difficult to keep him now that his contract is running down and his wage demands on an improved contract could be a stumbling block to tie him down.

I would say there is a greater chance of him leaving than Milan renewing. Given that Madrid lost out on both targets Haaland and Mbappe.

The Madrid rumors are BS. They already have Vinicius in that role, it makes absolutely no sense.

I?m positive Leao will renew. The new owners are not going to present themselves by selling our best player.

I think Real will want a bigger splash than Leao given the red faces they were left with following the Mbappe saga

Wouldn't be surprised if they went for Salah considering they need a RW as well and are already set on the left with Vincius.

Issue is that Leao has a release clause in his contract, considering it's set at 150m. Whatever happens we'll be in a good position

But obviously I'd prefer if we renewed his contract and locked him down long-term

I find it hard to believe that we'll do what we did with Kessie/Hakan/Donna in this case. Leao has huge upsides that the others simply don't.

BREAKING: Ibrahimovic has underwent a knee surgery today in Lyon and the prognosis is expected between 7-8 months

7-8 months...

The surgery for me indicates that he'll stay. But 7 to 8 months... That's a long time for someone his age, it's basically missing 2/3 of next season.

Whatever the case, if Zlatan wants to stay, then we should give him another year. Even if he doesn't play at all aside from a few minutes here and there. His presence behind the scenes is priceless

If Madrid go for Salah, Liverpool will go for Leao.

Point here is, at a valuation of 120M Milan, inter, juve, roma, et al will be listening to the market.

Winning the Scudetto does not necessarily mean the players are untouchable.

Ofcourse if Leao does leave, there will be a competent replacement lined up to fill in.

If he does extend and stay, it will be for something comparable to what Madrid or Liverpool or City or Barca would offer. Above Milan?s ability. Take over or no take over.

Liverpool have Diaz, Jota and Firmino as well, I don't think they'd spend that kind of money either. Liverpool never really splash that much, they'd rather go for someone more mid-range in terms of price but has huge upside.

Plus the release clause on Leao is 150m and I don't think we really need to listen to any offers unless that is triggered. Especially if Leao wants to renew. And I think we don't have any issues with offering him something similar to what Ibra was earning which is comparatively a very good offer and similar to what those clubs would offer him

You never know, 120M is tempting.

Wouldn?t bet against his sale, Chelsea, City, PSG, Madrid, Barca, Atletico, and the list goes on and on.

Dont get me wrong, I hope he stays. Just being realistic here.

Anything above 100m for an Italian club is too much to refuse, let alone 150m. Even if we don't have any debts and cash flow issues, if Man City or some other club comes knocking with that amount it'd be hard to say no. And I wouldn't be against it either, because I know we can re-invest that money.

But I have a very good feeling about Leao's renewal, and that with the new ownership coming in the first thing they'll do is sign him a new contract meeting his demands. We're Italian champions, we need to start thinking big.

He can stay or retire, at this point it doesn't make much of a difference. He will hardly play next season, which means we'll have only Origi, a 36-year-old Giroud and adapting Rebic in the CF position. If Origi turns out to be good, then I would be fine with that setup. We could concentrate on the RW position (I read an interest in De Ketelaere from Mediaset this morning). But if Origi turns out a semi-failure, then we'll be in the exact same position as this year.

Hmm, never heard that. I only know Magic Mike as his nickname.
