15m euro + Vogel

From what I head on Canale 5, they payed 17 millions + Vogel (considered 4 millions) and 800.000 euros to Portuguesa, his first club I think. So, if we sum them up his cost has been around 22 millions.

How much did we pay for Gila? 23? I think they knew the Milan managment were under pressure so they asked for as much as possible! OLIVEIRA READY TO REPLACE SHEVA

New AC Milan signing Ricardo Oliveira is not worried about having to fill the boots of Andriy Shevchenko following his move to the Italian giants.

The 26-year-old, who joined Milan on a five-year deal from Real Betis on Thursday with midfielder Johann Vogel travelling in the opposite direction, will wear the number seven shirt left by Shevchenko when he moved to Chelsea over the summer.

However, Brazilian Oliveira denies the responsibility will be an extra weight despite the Ukrainian's celebrity status at Milan.

"I have no problem with it," Oliveira said.

"I am a striker arriving at one of the best clubs in the world and I understand the responsibility that brings, but I am not worried.

"I want to think of integrating with the rest of the strikers at Milan and the rest of the dressing room."

Oliveira will be officially presented to the club's fans at the San Siro on Thursday night as part of a triangular tournament between Milan, Internazionale and Juventus.

But the ambitious striker does not want to be just a spectator but instead get straight down to work with his new club.

He said: "I am only thinking of playing and scoring goals and I am available for tonight."

After a turbulent end to his spell with Betis in which he was fined for returning late to training after the summer break, Oliveira is now looking to the future in Serie A, although he admits to having no hard feelings towards his old employers.

"Seville is part of my life, but now I am with Milan and only Milan,"

Oliveira handed Sheva jersey

Ricardo Oliveira has accepted to inherit Andriy Shevchenko’s Milan No 7 shirt following his Rossoneri switch yesterday.

The Brazilian completed his move to the San Siro on Thursday after the club’s search for a Sheva replacement finally came to an end.

“I don’t fear the responsibility of wearing this shirt,” stated the player netted from Real Betis.

“I am a forward who is joining one of the best clubs in the world. I can imagine what is expected of me, but I’m not worried.”

Oliveira signed a five-year contract with the giants after Milan handed the Spanish outfit Johann Vogel and a reported £12m.

“I can finally say that I am very happy to be here,” said the 26-year-old. “Now I can focus on working hard, playing and scoring goals.

“I am looking forward to meeting all of the team and starting to train with them, I want to integrate as soon as possible,” added Oliveira.

“I have always wanted to play with my fellow countryman Kaka and I am thrilled I have finally been given this opportunity.”

I'm also glade he isn't making such a fuss over getting into the limelight, he's taking this proffesionally, exactly what I expect of him. I hope his actions are as good as his words !!

Well he definately seems ready. And I don't get how some are already judging him and saying that he is a bad transfer when we haven't actually seen him play ONCE. And even After just one game we still can't judge, I'm sure that he isn't going to get the hang of things that quickly. He is a Milan player and that's why I will support him.

We should only judge when the season ends and we see how much goals he scored and assists he made.

Exactly, we gave Vieri the chance when he was even past the decline point. Why can't some give Oliveira a chance when he is a young talented player, that has the ability to score a lot of goals?

I hope he and Kakà will have the same harmony and intelligibility that Ricky had with Sheva.

Oliveira's comments are boring ... It's like he swallowed a tape or something and just turns it on whenever it's needed ... anyway I like the guy and I think (plus hope) his actions will be better than his words (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
