QUOTE (Jack Bauer @ Mar 30 2012, 07:43 PM) *
Allegri said that Nesta and Seedorf are fine and he's just resting them. Cassano is just a matter of getting the green light this week and they are talking about Pato as he's fine.

Well Pato should be fine, because it's been a fair while since he got injured. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The major reason his season was termed as finished due to his leaving for the US for a second opinion about his injuries, and maybe an operation. Long term stuff. If it wasn't because of that, he should have been available right about now. Which he is.

I think that any treatments for Pato will be pushed back in the summer, thus him returning back into the team instead of being out for the rest of the season.

If he scored and gets injured during the game but that means we go through then I don't care at this point, we were going to lose him for the rest of the season anyway

My thoughts exactly, save for one minor point. Olympics 2012. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Pato and Silva are in Brazil's squad, and I'd like him to make it if he can. I know many people won't care, but I do. If Pato has got to go under the knife, hopefully he recovers soon enough to make it for the big games.

Other than that, we've managed the season without him, and it seems that's what the management think in getting him ready for our biggest game this year in Barcelona. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Pato played and scored against them in a casual match, fingers crossed he can do so again in the crunchiest of situations next month.

I don't think Pato will partecipate in the Olympics if he wants to get this injury crisis solved once and for all.

We'll know soon enough I guess. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) If it came to this that he had to choose one, I'd be perfectly fine with resolving the injury crises. Olympics are nothing compared to his club and NT career, which has been turned into a joke due to his constant break downs.

Having said that, I've always enjoyed seeing Brazil (and other teams) play at the Olympics.

Even greater news

QUOTE
Alexandre Pato and Milan’s medical staff “found the answers we were looking for” in America and the striker should be ready to face Barcelona.

The Brazilian has struggled all season with recurring muscular injuries and underwent a specialist consultation in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Pato is absolutely fine and I’d say we found the answers we were looking for,” said chief Milan medic Jean Pierre Meersseman.

“We return home with a clearer idea of the situation. Could Pato play on Tuesday against Barcelona? Absolutely, he is ready and will certainly be at Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s disposal.”

Pato has good history at the Camp Nou, having scored in the opening minute of their 2-2 group phase draw.

The second leg of the Champions League quarter-final is on Tuesday evening and the first leg ended 0-0.

Great! If possible, I'd play him from the start. We need his pace against Barça's defense.

I wouldn't. Playing him in what surely is the match of the season, after a nasty injury and months of continuity lost, and - what is even more important - after his comeback is interpreted as a "final chance" before deciding to part ways - isn't a good option IMO.

I agree that the pressure will be extraordinary, but it is true of most of our team.

But it has the potential for some good stuff, despite all those things. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) If I were Pato, I'd be pretty pumped up.

Yes, but unlike other players, Pato would be simply pushed into the fire. It's maybe his last chance.

It's not like this is a first time for him, now is it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) Remember his brace against inter last season?

I think the people at Milan are smart enough not to use a first game since being recovered from an injury as a so called final chance. If Pato plays, it would simply because Allegri would think he needs that kind of player. After this match, there will be other matches left for Pato. Unless he gets injured again, but against Barça we don't have to worry about that since it's at Camp Nou, and not San Siro. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And if anything, I don't think we should worry about what 'could' (which is guessing anyway) be a final chance to a player, but about the match itself and Milan whether going through or not to the next round. If Allegri likes our chances more with Pato than without, he should play him.

I don't know,I think he'll still have those injury problems even if he is rested against Barca. If Barca is his last chance, then what a better way to prove his value and immense talent then in a game like that.Worst case scenario is he either gets injured, and gets subbed out.
