QUOTE (han2503 @ Jul 19 2011, 04:23 PM) To both replies; how many times does that actually happen? Once in a blue moon, and it's usually us who get the short end of the stick, such as the Boriello deal. BorrielloMilan Youth, Free 50% Sold to Genoa, 1.8 Mil Income Bought back, 7mil Loss + 50% of DiGennaro's contract Sold to Roma, 10mil Income Thats a 4.8mil profit so far, depending how DDG's contract pans out.

QUOTE (Dracoris @ Jul 19 2011, 09:42 PM) Borriello
Milan Youth, Free
50% Sold to Genoa, 1.8 Mil Income
Bought back, 7mil Loss + 50% of DiGennaro's contract
Sold to Roma, 10mil Income
Thats a 4.8mil profit so far, depending how DDG's contract pans out. We bought him back off Genoa for 10m plus the 50% of Di Gennaro's contract. It's ridiculous imo. So essentially Boriello was worth 20m! I think we basically ended up at 0 in terms of income for that one. Since Roma basically paid us the same amount we paid to buy off his half from Genoa a few years ago. Anyways, personally I think it;s a waste of time and resources, especially since the chances of actually gaining a top class player or making a good return on him are very minimal. We're never going to be Barca, but at least show some support to the ones that perform when given the chance. Like x-off said, the DM spot is really congested, but over the span of the season Strasser imo would have been able to give more then Rino and Ambro, and for me at this point in time, all 3 are on par, the difference is that Rino and Ambro are in the twilight of their carreers while Strasser can actually improve and progress better at Milan rather then going off on loan to a team like Lecce where he probably still won't get that much playing time.

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jul 19 2011, 08:15 PM) I agree with you
But my main point is, why bother to begin with? Strasser imo was the most matured out of all the kids, the only player who culd be trusted on a more regular basis, even if his position, is as you say, over crowded.
I can't see him getting in anytime soon, this season he was loaned out, next it will be a co-own or another loan. And he'll get lost in the shiffle like the rest of the kids the managment bring in. The management are spending a lot of money on these deals for the Primavera, yet I don't see any changes on their behalf to try and give these kids a decent chance To be honest, I think you're being far too idealistic. This is so typical of MF - there's always a thing we can mourn about. If Strasser stayed, it would be like - bad management, letting him rot while dinosaurs like Rino and Ambro play. He goes to loan, it again isn't good. One would think we're all here a lot smarter then the guys who actually make the decisions. And what do we know? We know for certain he would not have get the adequate playing time. He's had his share of experience, did play under 3 Milan coaches, won the scudetto with us, now it's time to give him some space, get him on loan and see what he can make out of it. You're hypothesis is just a hypothesis after all. It really isn't certain that he will be loaned out and again and again. Does Abate ring an bell? Maybe Boban? Abbiati? And what if we lost some of the primaveras via these deals. It's not that a single one of them turned out good, is it?

QUOTE (dst @ Jul 20 2011, 12:31 AM) Klose a phenomenon? Seriously? Come on. Not that he's just any player but nowhere near a phenomenon really.
I think the same applies for Schweinsteiger and Lahm, I've never seen them perform for club as good as they've performed for their NT. Did you watch him play for Werder? I mean, watched him a whole season long? Klose was a true liability, you always could rely he'll bring up a good performance. Schweini is still young, but so far he's been doing very well and he'll do better. He still is young, but up till now, he's had a few problems with Bayern coaches and their midfield vision. Lahm is a very good fullback, especially in times like these, were real quality fullbacks lack allover the world. I wouldn't call him overrated, that's for sure.

And what if we lost some of the primaveras via these deals. It's not that a single one of them turned out good, is it? Guys like Abbiati, Boban and even more, Abate are generally the exception to the rule imo. I'm not saying leave him to rot but if you're not going to invest any time on him at least choose somewhere smart instead of offloading him to the first team interested. Lecce imo won't really help him move forward in that respect, and when the deal is a loan, teams usually don't feel as inclined to play the players much since they don't really have any incentives to do so since at the end of the day the player will go back to his team with the provincial club not getting anything in return. The small clubs dopn't just take whatever they can from the big clubs anymore and just accept that, that's why co-owns are being used a lot more then loans. The point you make on Rino and Ambro again just proves how much the management talk BS imo. Saying they want top move forward with home grown players. Yet we all know that even a one footed Rino/Ambro would still get the nod over someone like Strasser, which imo just negates all the time, effort and money they're putting in to buy these kids QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jul 19 2011, 11:32 PM) This is what a loan comes down to in my view. If a player is not going to get significantly more playing time at the new club, there's no point. Agreed

So why would you even begin to label a player "X", go to the extent of identifying him, if you have no plan to buy him? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Galliani should stop with this rubbish. Its making not only him, but the whole club look ridiculous.
