The last thing we needed to do was loan out a defender. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Defender as in Oddo? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Yeah, that was a bit of an unexpected and stupid thing to do.

^^

Yep.

It probably wouldn't be the worst idea to release or loan Emerson. He's definitely going to get very limited game time this season and could probably be a key player for a smaller team. Alternatively he may be happy just being part of the Milan team and contributing when needed, like Cafu and Serginho did last term.

I think we are still fine in defense, but maybe with the money we got from Brocchi's sale (2.7 million Euros approximately), we could use that towards one more defender...

Yes, I just realized there is only what? 48 hours left? Was it until the 31st?

As far as Emerson... I think he's still in a middle of a contract. I'd be in favor of a loan deal for him back to Brazil. So he doesn't sit on the bench the whole time. He's considered a surplus midfielder... and we should do the same as we did to Brocchi. I previously said give him another chance, but at this point there are too many midfielders far better than him.

I don't think we need another loan and Milan usually does not release their players. If Emerson recuperates, he'll be a great back-up. I was fine with having Brocchi on the bench/stands and for Coppa matches as well...

Did the Italian FA not change the deadline then? I know England changed it so it finishes on midnight Monday night, so it finished on a working day as opposed to a Sunday, I just assumed everyone else had as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Loan then sell maybe? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Because Emerson sure doesn't sell much shirts, so the only way to get good money out of his transfer would be to maybe get his form and fitness back.

True! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif) The best transfer season since when we snapped Nesta. And after that Rui Costa too. Sure helps heal the misfortunes of the last two transfer windows.

I wouldn't say it's that good, because after all, Nesta is Nesta, and it was amazing to get a player like him who if not for Lazio's problems would have never transfered to another team

Quite right. We obviously can't compare this one to when Nesta came to us. Or even Rui. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I think what I meant was that this one was the only worthy transfer season after those two came to us. The stuff inbetween was mishmash. Some good signings, Ronaldo, Pato. Others not so good. I think I didn't explain it well enough, maybe. After Nesta, means not necessarily better than that transfer, but one worth noticing.

Still Fester spent, what over 30-40 million Euros (some deals are still kept in dark), but overall I'd say a job well done. Which for a guy like Galliani, coming from me, means 'We love you bald man'. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Don't take that personal, anybody. Galliani will always be Galliani. So we shouldn't get too comfortable with him. But getting players like Zamborghini, R80, Flamini, Sheva, and then calling the right cards with Brocchi etc. deserves a bit of a praise.

I'll definitely drink to that one... this has been an unforgettable transfer season. Calls for the opening of a bottle of red wine.
