Galliani rages at ref

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has blamed referee Christian Brighi for his side’s shock defeat against Atalanta.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men were humbled by the Bergamo boys 2-1, but the Rossoneri felt the officials’ decisions didn’t help their cause.

“The match was completely decided by the referee,” Galliani raged on the Milan Channel.

“The first half was our fault, but then Brighi made three consecutive mistakes and that proved fatal.

“One error penalised us and the other two favoured them, but there is no point complaining because we are told that everything is fine these days.

“Sergio Floccari’s foul on Massimo Oddo for the first goal was incredible. Clarence Seedorf’s disallowed goal was valid. It’s amazing how the linesman next to Antonio Langella didn’t notice that he was playing Clarence onside.

“And then of course, Massimo Ambrosini’s goal was legitimate. But at the end of the day we have unfortunately lost at home once again.”

Milan are now in sixth place, but their deficit on Fiorentina remains four points after the Viola were beaten by Udinese.

I don't believe it's good to always blame the referee. The players played poorly, that's a main reason as to why we lost.

Well Oddo admitted we deserved to lose and that's what I care about. Galliani can say whatever he feels like, we are not blind...

Of course it was refs’ fault; who else should be blamed? No one.

We played a magnificent match, had 18 scoring opportunities, hit the bar 5 times, and had about 70% of possession; moreover both of Atalanta's goals were invalid, and all in all we deserved to win.

Typical Galliani

The Ambro goal was legit, the other decisions were pretty much correct and has been stated earlier we deserved to loose

We made alot of mistakes and played poorly but Seedorfs goal was legit, U could clearly see that Langella was the last man. Don't know how the linesman missed that because he was near the player.

We played bad but with a little luck and good decisions from the refs we could have won that game.

the first goal was crap and it was totally the refs fault. Oddo was in front where he should have geen and the attacker grabbed his shirt sleeve and yaked him backwards to which he toppled to the ground. I don't mean a gentle tug like we are all used to seeing, I mean a full fledged yank. you can see it on the pictures above. that is crap and if a ref can't spot that they shouldn't be reffing at a pro level. the 2nd goal was pretty but we were out of position. all in all it should have been tied 1-1 even though we played bad but i agree. the refs sucked. QUOTE (jefri91 @ Mar 31 2008, 06:42 PM)

1. Oddo was pushed by Floccari in their goal.

2. Langella's head in the bottom shows Seedorf was not offside (disallowed goal).

3. Disallowed goal to Ambrosini. Doubt in the foul.

I find the 3rd one pretty ridiculous. It was an obvious foul. The other 2, yes - the ref was a cnut.

Galliani speaks words of a loser every week it seems!

Unfortunately I watched a lot of the game and from what I saw we were terrible, and we even had a penalty which was missed! Should we have been allowed to take it again? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The trouble is that we never strengthened when we should have and we're paying now for an old squad and no squad depth. Galliani doesn't want to mention that though because it would mean he would have to shoulder a lot of the blame then!

The sad fact is that we need a revolution in the summer, but if we get all the players we need it will take a while for them all to gel. All of this could have easily been avoided as well...

Oh, boy I can't wait for the day Galliani resigns from the management. We need someone the caliber of Leonardo there, not a bozo like him. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

PS. We lost because we deserved to.
